Onoway Junior Senior High School LiveWires

The Onoway Junior Senior High robotics club, also known as the Onoway Livewires, is a group of students, teachers, parents, and mentors who have a passion for robots and computers.

Our team meets every Tuesday after school in the library, learning to program using Java and building the robot from scratch using metal girders, motors, servos, and 3D-printed parts. Our goal is to build and program a robot that can complete the task given to us in the First Tech Challenge every year. At the end of the season we bring our robot to a competition to show what we have accomplished.

This will be our second year competing in the First Tech Challenge, which will be at the end of January on the 27th and 28th at Telus World of Science. We have a new FTC task this year. It’s called Relic Recovery. We need to build a robot that can complete the challenge and score us points.
